Manga Translate Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
Sapiens Lab provides Manga Translate, an Android app for reading and translating manga. This policy explains how information is used when you use the app and its related services.
Reading content and local storage
The app stores imported manga, reading progress, favorites, browser history, preferences, and temporary translation files on your device. The built-in browser loads websites you choose to visit. Those websites receive normal web requests and may set cookies or store website data under their own policies.
Recognition and translation
Supported text recognition runs on your device, including the optional Japanese recognition package after download. Translation services may receive recognized text, language choices, and relevant translation preferences. AI translation is processed by our translation service through OpenRouter, which forwards requests to the model provider selected for the request. If you use a cloud recognition feature, the image content needed for recognition is sent to that service.
Network translation is not a promise of entirely local or offline processing. Requests may also include authentication, usage, and technical information needed to provide the service, apply quotas, and investigate failures.
To reuse translation results and reduce repeated processing, our AI service requests response caching through OpenRouter for 24 hours. Cache availability and actual retention depend on OpenRouter and the model provider. This cache setting is not a guarantee that all request data, logs, or provider records are deleted after 24 hours. Clearing local translation files does not clear provider-side records.
Android permissions
Floating translation uses overlay permission and an Android screen capture session to translate content in other apps. Screen capture starts after the system permission flow. Optional accessibility support listens for screen changes to trigger automatic translation; the service is configured not to retrieve accessibility window text. You can stop floating translation and manage permissions in Android settings.
Accounts and purchases
If you sign in, Firebase Authentication processes your account identity. Account identifiers and email may be shared with RevenueCat to associate purchases and membership with your account. Google Play and RevenueCat process purchase status and subscription entitlements. Translation services use account and usage information to enforce plan limits.
Diagnostics, ads, and service providers
The app uses service providers for authentication, translation, purchases, advertising, analytics, and crash reporting. Depending on the feature and your settings, these services may process device identifiers, interaction events, technical diagnostics, and request information. Their policies also apply to the information they process.

Your choices and account deletion
Settings includes controls to clear browser data and temporary translation files. These actions do not delete your manga library or reading progress. You can manage app permissions through Android, sign out, or delete your signed-in account from the account page.
Account deletion instructions explain the in-app and email options. Account deletion is separate from local file deletion and Google Play subscription cancellation. Contact us for requests about associated service data.
Retention and security
Local data remains until you remove it through the applicable app or Android controls. Service data is retained as needed to provide features, handle support, maintain security, and meet applicable obligations. Providers may retain transaction or diagnostic records under their own policies. Contact us with a specific access or deletion request.
We use technical measures to protect information, but no storage or network transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Do not submit content you are not entitled to share with the selected translation service.
Children and external websites
The service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us. Manga websites are operated by their respective publishers, and their content, age restrictions, and privacy policies are separate from ours.
Policy changes and contact
We may update this page as the app changes. The date above identifies this version. For privacy questions or data requests, email [email protected] and identify Manga Translate in your message.
